About Our Council
Father John J. McCarthy Council 12472 of the Knights of Columbus was founded in 1999 through the efforts of several Catholic gentlemen of Blessed Sacrament Parish. The council is named in honor of Father John J. McCarthy, the first priest at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Our council is located at Blessed Sacrament Church on Savannah Highway in Charleston, South Carolina, where we work closely with the parish and the surrounding Charleston community — providing both financial support and active participation in many parish and charitable projects throughout the year.
As Knights and as individual parishioners, we are deeply involved in the spiritual and community life of Blessed Sacrament. Our activities reflect the core principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism, which guide all that we do.
We are honored to:
Our Knights also collaborate with Father Gálvez and other parish ministries throughout the year, and many members serve in leadership roles within the Perpetual Adoration, Stewardship, and Welcoming Committees.
We invite all Catholic men to learn more about our mission and discover the joy of serving Christ through the Knights of Columbus.
If you’re interested in joining or would like more information about our council, please contact us — we’d love to hear from you.
